  • Objectifs
    The goal of this MSc degree is to provide a postgraduate research program focusing on applications of computer science and mathematics in telecommunications. It offers a broad choice of topics including latest information technologies, networks (local or global), fundamentals of computer science (operations research, graph theory, electronic documents) and applied mathematics (probability theory, statistics). This Master opens the way towards PhD studies in internationally recognized research laboratories.

    The entry requirements include a 1st class bachelor degree or a four year degree in one of the academic topics offered by the Master’s course.

  • Contenu
    This is a full-time course of 2 years
    divided into four semesters. The first
    semester consists of core courses
    taught in English. Intensive French
    courses are also organized during
    this period. During the second
    semester, students choose two main
    topics and courses are partially
    taught in English. During the third
    semester, students choose a
    specialized field, such as Computer
    human interface, Software and
    Formal methods or Systems,
    networks and architecture. Courses
    are totally taught in French.
    The fourth semester is devoted
    to the preparation of a thesis in a
    public or private research center.
    First semester
    Core courses in English:
    n Probability theory
    n Mathematics (statistics,
    linear algebra)
    n Computer networks
    n Telephony networks
    n Operations research
    and graph theory
    n Web and XML
    Second semester
    Choice of two topics among:
    Computer Science
    n Algorithmics, Software modeling,
    Engineering, Databases, Information
    systems
    Telecommunication Networks
    n Telecommunication networks,
    IP network, mobile networks
    Lectures are partially taught
    in English.
    Third semester
    Courses are totally run in French.
    Choice of three specialized fields:
    Man machine interaction
    n Cognitive bases, Learning and
    decision, Classification and
    extraction, Multimedia, Cooperation,
    Dynamic and adaptive systems
    Software and Formal methods
    n Security, Components and tests,
    Architecture, Parallel omputing,
    Electronic document, Distributed
    system models and methods
    Systems, networks and
    architecture
    n Security, Components and tests,
    Architecture and parallel computing
    for distributed systems, High-speed
    networks, Models and methods for
    simulation and verification of
    distributed systems, Parallel
    algorithmic, virtual reality
    Fourth semester
    This semester is spent performing a
    research project in an industrial or
    university R&D laboratory.
